The Harmony Boys’ win was powered by a stellar performance from Junior Aimufua, who scored twice, while Babatunde Bright added another goal to seal the triumph. Remo Stars’ Jabbar Malik managed a consolation goal in stoppage time but it was too little, too late to turn the result.
Following the match, Kwara United’s technical adviser, Ashifat Suleiman, commended his players for their focus and discipline, describing the performance as a testament to their determination.
“We had a tough game because we didn’t start well, but we regained ourselves. A well-done job from the players because they showed determination and discipline in the game,” Suleiman said.
