Tight Security as Mohammed Takes Over as PDP Acting Chairman

    Share

Heavy security was deployed at the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja on Monday as Abdulrahman Mohammed assumed duty as the party’s acting national chairman.

Mohammed, who previously served as PDP Vice Chairman for the North Central region, arrived at the party’s Abuja office accompanied by supporters. He addressed a gathering of party members, confirming that he had officially taken over as acting chairman.

The appointment comes after the suspension of the party’s National Chairman, Umar Damagun, and National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, by the Samuel Anyanwu-led National Working Committee (NWC). The NWC cited internal party matters as the reason for the suspension and the subsequent temporary leadership change.

As Mohammed settles into his new role, members and supporters of the PDP are watching closely to see how he will navigate the challenges ahead and unite the party under his temporary leadership.
