The Nigerian Army has confirmed the arrest of eight suspects, including two believed to be key facilitators in a suicide bombing network, as part of its ongoing counterterrorism operations in the North East. The arrests were made following intelligence-led operations conducted by troops under Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK).

The petroleum products are believed to have been intended for use in terrorist attacks or other criminal activities.
The suppliers reportedly fled upon sighting the troops, abandoning the fuel, which is now in military custody pending further investigation. Security experts note that petroleum products are sometimes used by terrorist groups in IEDs, explosives, or as fuel for attacks, making such seizures critical to preventing further violence.
