The long-running paternity controversy involving Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken a new turn as his father, Dr Adedeji Adeleke, has spoken publicly on the issue for the first time.

Dr Adeleke, a billionaire businessman and founder of Adeleke University, said a DNA test result showing 0.00 per cent has clearly cleared his son of claims that he fathered a young girl identified as Anu.

The statement follows renewed attention on social media after the girl, now a teenager, appealed publicly for Davido to submit to another DNA test. The appeal reignited debates and arguments online, drawing reactions from fans, critics, and the general public.

In his comments, Dr Adeleke made it clear that the family has no problem accepting responsibility if scientific evidence proves Davido is the father of the child.

“I have 14 grandchildren, so what will adding one more take from me?” he asked. “Is it that I won’t be able to cater for her or what?”

He stressed that the family’s position has always been based on facts, not emotions or public pressure.

“If science had revealed that the little girl was my granddaughter, I would gladly accept her,” Dr Adeleke said.

According to him, the DNA test conducted showed a result of 0.00 per cent, which he said completely ruled out Davido as the biological father of Anu.

Dr Adeleke also raised concerns about the renewed online campaign surrounding the case. He alleged that the social media account being used in Anu’s name is not being run by the girl herself.

“Anu’s aunt reached out to me and revealed that Kemi Olunloyo is the one running Anu’s account on Instagram,” he said.

Kemi Olunloyo, a controversial social media personality, has been linked to several online campaigns and disputes involving celebrities in the past. Dr Adeleke’s claim has added another layer to the already complex situation.

He suggested that impersonation and external influence may be behind the fresh accusations and calls for another DNA test.

The paternity issue involving Davido and the child has been in the public space for several years. The matter first surfaced when claims were made that the singer had fathered a child outside his known relationships.

Davido has consistently denied the claim, insisting that he is not the father of Anu. Over the years, the issue has resurfaced from time to time, often gaining traction on social media.

In a recent interview reported by ARISE NEWS, Davido firmly rejected the call for another DNA test. He stated that he had already undergone five DNA tests over the years, all of which returned negative results.

According to the singer, repeating the test would be unnecessary and emotionally draining, especially given the clear outcomes of previous tests.

Davido, one of Africa’s biggest music stars, is known not only for his global success but also for being open about his family life. He has publicly acknowledged and taken responsibility for his children.

Supporters often point to this as evidence that the singer would not deny a child if he were truly the father.

In the ARISE NEWS report, Davido said the matter had caused him and his family years of stress and pain, adding that he believes the issue is being kept alive for attention and sympathy.

The renewed controversy has continued to divide public opinion. Some Nigerians have called for empathy for the child, arguing that her welfare should come first, regardless of the dispute.

Others have defended Davido and his family, saying repeated DNA tests with the same result should settle the matter once and for all.

On social media, many users reacted strongly to Dr Adeleke’s statement, especially his comment about willingly accepting the child if the DNA result had been positive.

Some described his response as calm and reasonable, while others questioned why the issue keeps resurfacing despite earlier test results.

Paternity disputes involving celebrities are not new in Nigeria. High-profile figures often face public scrutiny over personal matters, which are then amplified by social media.

With Dr Adeleke’s public statement and Davido’s earlier rejection of another test, it remains unclear whether the renewed calls will lead to any legal or medical action.

For now, the Adeleke family insists the matter has been settled by science and should be laid to rest.

As the debate continues online, many Nigerians are calling for restraint, especially in discussions involving a minor.

The controversy once again highlights the challenges celebrities face in managing private issues in the public eye and the powerful role social media plays in shaping public opinion.
