A lawyer representing popular businessman and social media figure Blord has responded strongly to claims made by online personality VeryDarkMan, dismissing the allegations and refusing to engage in what he described as unnecessary public drama.
The reaction comes after VeryDarkMan, widely known as VDM, alleged that members of Blord’s legal team had been reaching out to him privately, pleading over issues related to Blord’s reported release. The claims quickly gained attention online, adding another layer to the ongoing feud between the two public figures.
However, in a sharp response, one of Blord’s lawyers denied the allegations and made it clear that he would not be drawn into a public exchange of words with VDM.
“I am too learned to drag issues with a layman,” the lawyer said, adding that he considers himself “too big” to be involved in such controversies.
The statement has further fueled the already tense situation between both camps, which has been playing out largely on social media in recent weeks. The dispute between Blord and VeryDarkMan has attracted significant public interest, with many Nigerians following the back-and-forth online.
Beyond dismissing VDM’s claims, the lawyer also made fresh allegations about how the conflict started and escalated. According to him, Blord’s earlier claim that he had trademarked the name “Ratel” was not entirely accurate.
“Blord only came out to claim he trademarked ‘Ratel’ just to get under VDM’s skin. In reality, he never actually trademarked it,” the lawyer stated.
He further argued that the situation would not have become as serious as it is now if VDM had not taken the matter to law enforcement authorities.
“This whole fight wouldn’t have escalated to this level if VDM hadn’t rushed to the police, crying that Blord used his name for criminal activities,” he added.
The lawyer explained that the issue was initially meant to remain within the online space and be handled as a social media disagreement. According to him, turning the matter into a legal issue has unnecessarily complicated the situation.
He said the dispute should never have reached the level of police involvement or court proceedings, suggesting that both sides could have resolved their differences without involving authorities.
This version of events directly contradicts the narrative earlier presented by VeryDarkMan, who claimed that Blord’s camp, including his lawyers, had been making efforts behind the scenes to settle the matter.
The conflicting accounts have left many observers unsure about what is really happening behind the scenes, while also raising questions about the growing trend of social media disputes spilling into real-world legal battles.
In recent years, Nigeria has seen a rise in high-profile online feuds involving influencers, celebrities, and business figures. What often starts as a simple disagreement on platforms like Instagram or X (formerly Twitter) can quickly escalate, sometimes leading to police reports, arrests, and court cases.
In the case of Blord and VeryDarkMan, both individuals have strong followings, which has helped amplify the dispute. Supporters on both sides have taken to social media to defend their preferred figure, further intensifying the situation.
At the same time, some observers argue that allegations involving criminal activity cannot simply be ignored or handled privately, especially when reputations and public trust are at stake.
As the situation continues to develop, it remains unclear whether both parties will seek a resolution or allow the matter to proceed through legal channels.
For now, Blord’s legal team appears to be taking a firm stance, rejecting claims of behind-the-scenes negotiations and refusing to engage in public arguments. On the other hand, VeryDarkMan has maintained his position, keeping the issue in the public space.
The unfolding drama highlights the challenges of managing disputes in the digital age, where private disagreements can quickly become national conversations.
With both sides standing their ground, many Nigerians will be watching closely to see how the matter is eventually resolved—and whether it will end online or in the courtroom.
