Popular Nigerian skit maker and actor, Samuel Perry, better known as Broda Shaggi, has broken his months-long silence, thanking his fans for remaining loyal to him during his prolonged absence from the public space.
The comedian, who has largely stayed away from social engagements, public appearances, comedy shows and his usual online activities in recent months, said he had not been able to connect with his fans in the way he wanted.
In an emotional message shared through his WhatsApp channel on Friday, Shaggi expressed appreciation to those who continued to check on him, show concern and support him despite his absence.
He said the patience and loyalty of his fans had meant more to him than he could fully express.
“To everyone who’s still here… waiting, checking in, showing love, and holding me down even through the silence, thank you. I don’t think y’all truly understand how much that means to me,” he wrote.
The entertainer added that although he had not been able to show up for his fans as he would have liked, he had remained aware of their support.
“Even when I haven’t been able to show up the way I wanted to, knowing that y’all are still here has meant more than I can put into words,” he said.
However, Shaggi did not reveal the reason for his prolonged absence.
The comedian said he was not yet ready to tell his full story, but hinted that he would eventually open up about what he had been going through.
He also expressed hope that he would soon return to the entertainment activities that made him popular.
“I wish I could tell y’all everything right now… but I can’t. Not yet,” he said.
“Just know I haven’t forgotten about you, and I haven’t stopped thinking about the day I can finally come back and really be ME with y’all again. I’m hoping that day comes soon.”
Shaggi further assured his supporters that his eventual return would be stronger, promising to make up for the time he had spent away from the entertainment scene.
“And when it does, I promise I’m coming back better, stronger, and ready to make up for all this lost time,” he said.
The comedian ended his message with another expression of appreciation for his fans, thanking them for remaining with him despite the uncertainty surrounding his absence.
“Until then, please know this from the bottom of my heart. I LOOOOOOOOR Y’ALL SOOOO MUCH. Thank you for staying. Thank you for being patient with me. Thank you for still being here,” he wrote.
