Nollywood actress-turned-evangelist Tonto Dikeh has launched a new interdenominational prayer ministry, the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle, NWPT.
Dikeh announced the launch on her Instagram page, describing the ministry as an “interdenominational altar, spiritual home and global movement of consecrated believers.”
She said the ministry was established to promote prayer, revival, spiritual training and the spiritual awakening of believers.
According to the actress, the new ministry was inspired by biblical teachings about “new wine” and would focus on spiritual transformation, spiritual growth and apostolic training.
Dikeh said NWPT would provide a platform for Christians who desire deeper spiritual growth and greater commitment to prayer, revival and Christian teachings.
Outlining the vision of the ministry, she said it was aimed at creating a global movement of believers who would live according to Christian values and help bring positive change to their communities and nations.
She said the ministry seeks “to see a global awakening of consecrated believers operating in the raw power, purity, and presence of God transforming nations and establishing the Kingdom of Christ on Earth.”
The ministry, according to information shared by Dikeh, holds weekly fellowship every Friday at 6pm in Abuja.
The launch marks another major step in Dikeh’s growing involvement in Christian evangelism and faith-based activities.
Dikeh, who gained fame as a Nollywood actress, has in recent years become increasingly involved in Christian preaching and public discussions about her faith.
Her transition from entertainment into Christian ministry has attracted public attention, particularly because of her established profile in Nigeria’s film industry and social media space.
The actress has frequently used her social media platforms to share messages about Christianity, prayer, personal transformation and her relationship with God.
Her decision to establish NWPT is therefore part of a wider shift in her public activities, from acting and entertainment towards evangelism and Christian service.
The new ministry is described as interdenominational, meaning it is intended to bring together Christians from different church backgrounds rather than operate strictly within one established denomination.
Interdenominational Christian fellowships and ministries are common in Nigeria, where prayer meetings, revival programmes, Bible teachings and worship gatherings often attract members of different churches.

Abuja, where NWPT is expected to hold its weekly fellowship, is also home to several Christian ministries and religious organisations. The Federal Capital Territory has become an important centre for religious activities, with large congregations and Christian programmes attracting worshippers from different parts of Nigeria.
Dikeh’s new ministry comes at a time when several Nigerian entertainers have become increasingly involved in Christian evangelism and other religious activities.
Some entertainers have left or reduced their involvement in the entertainment industry to focus on preaching, while others have combined their careers with public expressions of their faith.
Dikeh has also previously spoken publicly about her Christian journey and the importance of faith in her life.
With the launch of NWPT, the actress joins a growing number of public figures using their platforms to promote religious messages and organise faith-based programmes.
The ministry’s stated focus on spiritual training also suggests that it intends to go beyond regular prayer meetings by providing teachings and programmes aimed at helping members develop their Christian faith.

For now, NWPT’s Friday fellowship provides the first regular platform through which Dikeh hopes to build the new movement and attract believers interested in prayer, spiritual growth and Christian training.
