Vivo has unveiled its latest entry-level smartphone, the Vivo Y36c, in China. Priced affordably starting at 899 yuan (approximately $126), the Y36c is designed to offer great value for budget-conscious consumers while still delivering solid performance and modern features.

The Vivo Y36c is available in three attractive colors: Moon Shadow Black, Distant Mountain Green, and Diamond Purple. Despite its budget-friendly price, the phone sports a sleek and modern design. It features a water drop notch at the top of the screen for the selfie camera and a more pronounced chin compared to the side bezels.

The phone’s flat middle frame and large rectangular camera island on the back give it a contemporary look. With a thickness of just 8.53mm and weighing only 185 grams, the Y36c is both slim and lightweight, making it comfortable to hold and use.

“Vivo has managed to pack a lot of modern design elements into the Y36c while keeping the price accessible,” says David Lee, a tech analyst. “The phone’s sleek appearance and lightweight build make it an appealing choice for budget-conscious buyers.”

The Vivo Y36c doesn’t compromise on camera quality. It features a 50 MP main sensor with a pixel size of 0.64μm and an aperture of f/1.8 on the back. This is complemented by a 5 MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The main camera’s high resolution ensures that users can capture detailed and vibrant photos.

The Y36c is equipped with a 6.56-inch LCD screen that boasts a 90Hz refresh rate, providing smooth visuals and a responsive touch experience. The screen can reach a peak brightness of 840 nits, making it easy to view even in bright sunlight. Additionally, it comes with a low blue light eye protection certification, which helps reduce eye strain during prolonged use.

Under the hood, the Vivo Y36c is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, built on TSMC’s 6nm process technology. The chipset features a “2+6” core architecture with 2×2.4GHz Cortex-A76 cores and 6×2.0GHz Cortex-A55 cores. The GPU is the Arm Mali-G57 MC2. In performance benchmarks, the chipset scores around 800 in single-core and 2000 in multi-core tests on Geekbench.

The Vivo Y36c comes with a robust 5000 mAh battery, providing ample power for a full day of use on a single charge. This large battery capacity is particularly useful for users who rely on their phone throughout the day for various activities.

Additionally, the phone has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. This means it can withstand light splashes of water and some exposure to dust, making it a durable choice for everyday use.
