    Peter can’t be president till 2039 – Tinubu’s ex-critic

Daniel Bwala, once a vocal critic of President Bola Tinubu but now a major supporter, has claimed that Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, will not have a realistic chance to become Nigeria’s president until 2039.

Bwala’s remarks come amid speculations about a possible merger between the Labour Party (LP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He projected that President Tinubu would complete two terms in office, after which power would shift to the north for another eight years.

He suggested that only after this period would the presidency return to the south, potentially opening the door for Obi in 2039.

In a social media post on Monday, Bwala wrote: “@PeterObi only stands the chance to be Nigeria’s president from 2039 when he will clock 79, or above 79 years.

“By then, his message would no longer be ‘vote me because I am the younger of the candidates’ but ‘vote me because age doesn’t matter but capacity.'”

He further commented on the political landscape, saying, “The reason is @officialABAT will finish his two terms, then power would come to the north for another eight years before it goes to the south.

“The e-rodents who keep shouting ‘we are the youth’ by then would be saying ‘we are the elders.'”
