The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has expressed his resolve to address attacks on himself and the church, although he reiterated that his approach would be non-confrontational.
ChurchTimes in a report on Monday said Adeboye shared his position with the leaders of the church at a recent meeting.
The clergyman conveyed his concerns over what he described as “incessant media bashing and unsubstantiated reports” about the RCCG.
According to sources present at the meeting, he asserted his decision to bring the matter before God, relying on divine intervention to silence detractors.
“Pastor Adeboye does not like litigation and he does not like confrontation,” a source disclosed to Church Times.
“He takes his time to approach issues and would rather seek God’s guidance than resort to legal action.
“He does not like the idea of litigation. And would not want to go to court over any matter. He once prevailed on Bishop David Oyedepo not to go to court over a matter involving one of the branches of Winners Chapel. That shows you the kind of person he is.”
When asked about potential media engagements, Adeboye reportedly advised against it, urging pastors to focus on prayer instead. “This matter will be settled by God once and for all,” he assured attendees.
Regarding internal church matters, such as the recent controversy surrounding Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, Adeboye’s deliberate approach was evident.
Sources indicated that despite external pressures, Adeboye took measured steps, demonstrating his aversion to conflict within the church’s leadership.
