    ‘Borno Suicide Bomber Had A Baby On Her Back’

    The suicide bomber, who detonated an explosive that killed eight persons in Gwoza, Borno State on Saturday was seen with a baby on her back.

    The police and a security expert, Zagazola Makama, known and respected for delivering reliable and accurate reports on security incidents in Northern Nigeria, made the disclosure on Saturday.

    Meteor had reported the suicide bombing earlier on Saturday, saying six persons died before the police updated the toll to eight.

    The attack, occurred during a wedding celebration near a busy motorpark.

    The Borno State Police Command said eight people were killed and fifteen others sustained various degrees of injuries following the bomb explosion.

    Police Public Relations Officer ASP, Nahum Kenneth Daso, also disclosed that the suicide bomber died with her child.

    The police spokesperson added that the fifteen injured individuals were receiving treatment at General Hospital Gwoza.

    Makama who tweets as @ZagazOlaMakama, said the suicide bomber had the child on her back.

    He said, “The bomber’s use of a human shield is a horrific and inhumane tactic, causing unimaginable harm to innocent lives.

    “The child, innocent and unaware of the bomber’s intentions, was tragically caught in the midst of the attack.

    “The use of a child in this attack is a stark reminder of the extremists’ disregard for human life and their willingness to exploit vulnerable individuals for their twisted purposes.”

    Eyewitnesses reported scenes of chaos and devastation as the explosion ripped through the crowded area, leaving bystanders in shock and emergency services scrambling to attend to the wounded.
