  • Bayo Alaba: Bayo Alaba, the British Nigerian MP representing the vibrant district of Southminster, was a beacon of diversity and unity in the halls of Parliament.  Born into a middle-class family in Lagos, Bayo was imbued with a sense of duty and community from a young age. His parents, educators and activists themselves, instilled in him the values of education, empathy, and equality. Bayo excelled academically, earning scholarships that allowed him to study law at the prestigious University of Oxford. In 2015, Bayo entered politics, running on a platform of inclusivity and empowerment. His campaign resonated deeply with Southminster’s residents, many of whom shared similar backgrounds and experiences. With overwhelming support, Bayo was elected as the Member of Parliament for Southminster, becoming the first British Nigerian to hold such a position.
