    Share

As part of its moves to address noise, air pollution and other environmental infractions, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), on Thursday, undertook a major enforcement operation across several key areas of Lagos State shutting down establishments that violated environmental laws.

The operation, spearheaded by the Commissioner for Environment Tokunbo Wahab, targeted regions including Agric, Ibeshe, Ikorodu, Agege, Ifako Ijaiye, Abule Egba, Fagba, Ketu, and Magodo.

According to the commissioner, who issued a statement detailing the operations on X.com, the shut establishments ignored repeated warnings and continued to violate LASEPA directives.

He said, “Despite prior warnings, several establishments—such as hotels, bars, gas filling stations, poultry farms, and lounges—continued to violate LASEPA’s directives. Consequently, these establishments have been temporarily shut down to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

“Affected establishments include Victory Hotel, Wendy Bar, Moore Gas Plant, Provider Farm and Poultry, Cloud 24, Little Palace Hotel, City Groove Lounge and Bar, Destiny Castle, and B.S. Gold Warehouse.”

“LASEPA stresses the importance of compliance with environmental regulations and remains committed to creating a sustainable and harmonious environment for Lagos residents.

“The agency has issued repeated warnings and remains dedicated to enforcing environmental laws, ensuring compliance, and achieving a clean and sustainable environment for Lagos State.”
