The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has issued a serious warning about a fraudulent website that is falsely claiming to offer foreign visa sponsorship using its name and logo.
The website, which is being advertised on Facebook, redirects users to the address http://labari.com.ng. NELFUND has confirmed that it is not associated with this website or any similar schemes.
NELFUND, which provides educational loans to Nigerian students for their studies within Nigeria, does not offer visa sponsorships or related services.
The fraudulent website is misleading the public by using NELFUND’s name and logo without permission.
In response to this issue, NELFUND has reported the fraudulent website to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
The organization advises everyone to avoid interacting with the site and to be cautious about sharing any personal information. NELFUND encourages the public to rely only on information from its official channels.

Meanwhile, NELFUND has made a significant financial contributions to the University of Ibadan for the 2023/2024 academic session.
The fund has transferred a total of Two Hundred and One Million, One Hundred and Fourteen Thousand, Six Hundred and Fifty Naira (N201,114,650.00) to the university’s account. This money is designated to cover the fees for 1,370 students who applied for NELFUND loans.
The University of Ibadan’s Bursary Department is currently processing these funds to issue Smart Receipts to the eligible students.
Students who have already paid their session fees and are beneficiaries of the NELFUND loan are eligible for a refund.
To apply for this refund, students must submit a written request through the Dean of Students to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic.
The application should include their bank account details and a photocopy of the original payment receipt.
This refund information is specifically for students who applied for and received approval for the NELFUND loan. The university has issued this notice to ensure that all eligible students are aware of their right to a refund and can complete the necessary application process.
