The EducationUSA College Fair is back and bigger than ever, with 50 top U.S. universities ready to engage with Nigerian students in Abuja and Lagos.

The annual fair, organized by EducationUSA Nigeria, will take place from September 17th to 19th, showcasing a wide range of educational opportunities.

The fair is a major event for Nigerian students interested in studying in the United States. It provides them with a chance to interact directly with admissions officers from prestigious American institutions.

The U.S. Consulate General’s Public Diplomacy Section confirmed that prominent universities such as Harvard, Columbia, The George Washington University, Tulane, and Spelman College will be represented.

“This fair offers a unique opportunity for students to explore educational options in the U.S. and meet with representatives who can provide valuable insights into the admissions process,” said Lee McManis, U.S. Mission Public Diplomacy Counselor.

The event will start in Abuja on September 17th at the NAF Conference Centre and Suites. It will then move to Lagos on September 18th at the Ecobank Pan African Center, Victoria Island, and conclude on September 19th at Pistis Hub, Maryland.

There is no fee to attend the fair, but students must register in advance.

The EducationUSA Fair is not only an opportunity for students to learn about various academic programs but also to discuss the student visa application process, financial aid, and cultural aspects of studying in the U.S.

Nigeria is a significant contributor to the international student population in the U.S., sending more students to American colleges and universities than any other country in Africa.

In the 2022-2023 academic year alone, over 17,000 Nigerian students pursued higher education in the United States.

The fair promises to be a pivotal event for those looking to further their education in the U.S. and is expected to attract a large number of prospective students.

Participating universities will offer insights into their undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the academic opportunities available.

Students attending the fair will also have the chance to speak with EducationUSA advisers and U.S. Embassy representatives.

These interactions will help them gain a clearer understanding of what to expect when studying in the United States and how to navigate the application process.

“This is a great chance for students to get all their questions answered and explore the incredible educational opportunities available in the United States,” McManis added.
