Pastor Jerry Eze, the founder of Streams of Joy International, has shared a deeply personal and emotional story about forgiveness that has inspired many.
Eze, known for his influential ministry program, NSPPD (New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declaration), recently took to social media to open up about an encounter with a woman who had assaulted his mother when he was a child.
The painful story, which Eze recalled in a post on X, sheds light on the powerful impact forgiveness can have, both on the one forgiving and the one being forgiven.
“I met a woman who beat up my late mum terribly. Anyone who knows me would know how much I adore my Mum,” Eze began in the post. “I was young and she was a young woman at the time and we lived in the same compound. She threw my mum on the floor and hit her so hard. That memory traumatized me for so long.”
The woman, now seeking help, approached Pastor Eze after being deeply touched by his ministry. She revealed that NSPPD had had a profound effect on her life, leading her to seek prayers from Eze, despite their painful history.
Though the memories of the assault and the trauma it caused still lingered in his heart, Eze made a conscious decision to forgive the woman.
“It’s amazing how I extended help to her and she broke down in tears. She remembered what happened, I remembered too, and most importantly I had forgiven,” Eze said. “Forgiveness is so liberating. I know it hurts, please forgive!!! The Holy Spirit will help you. May God give you the grace to forgive right now in Jesus name.”
For many, the act of forgiving someone who has caused deep pain is difficult, if not impossible. However, Eze’s story serves as a powerful reminder that forgiveness is not only an act of grace but also one of personal freedom.
Despite the anguish of his past, Eze chose to extend love and compassion rather than anger and bitterness. His message of forgiveness has resonated deeply with his followers, many of whom have found healing through his words.
The forgiveness Eze demonstrated was not just for the woman who assaulted his mother but also for himself. Holding onto the pain of the past can weigh down the soul, but through forgiveness, one can break free from the chains of resentment and bitterness.
This powerful testimony from Eze also underscores the central theme of his ministry – the importance of love, grace, and healing through Christ. NSPPD has become a platform for many to seek divine intervention, and it appears that the program has had a transformative effect on the woman who once caused so much pain in Eze’s life.
In his post, Eze emphasized that the act of forgiveness is not easy. It requires strength, courage, and often a great deal of faith. However, he assured his followers that with God’s help, they too can find the strength to forgive those who have hurt them.
“Forgiveness is so liberating,” Eze reiterated. “It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it. The Holy Spirit will help you.”
Eze’s words serve as a beacon of hope for those struggling with unforgiveness, reminding them that healing and peace come when they choose to forgive, just as Christ forgave them.
The story of Eze’s forgiveness is a powerful testament to the healing power of grace. It is a message of compassion, love, and the transformative power of Christ’s teachings.
As Eze concluded in his post: “May God give you the grace to forgive right now in Jesus name.” It’s a simple yet profound prayer that speaks to the heart of his message – that forgiveness can bring freedom and restoration, no matter the pain or the past.
