The presidency has assured Nigerians of its preparedness for the 2027 general elections.

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Public Communications and Media to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, made this bold declaration on Wednesday in Abuja.

He noted that the president’s team is entirely focused on fulfilling campaign promises and improving the lives of Nigerians.

“The time for politicking is not yet here, and when that time comes, we will be ready for everyone,” Bwala said.

Bwala emphasized that Tinubu’s leadership is yielding tangible results that will naturally secure public support.

He expressed confidence in the president’s ability to secure a second term, describing Tinubu as constitutionally qualified and capable.

“God willing, if he has the life and health, we hope he will pursue his mandate as provided by the Constitution,” Bwala added.

The adviser highlighted Tinubu’s commitment to national progress, labeling his administration as transformative.

Bwala also dismissed concerns about distractions from discussions surrounding the next election cycle.

“President Tinubu remains undistracted,” he said. “Our focus is governance, not politics at the moment.”

He asserted that Nigerians are witnessing significant progress under Tinubu’s leadership.

This, according to him, would serve as the foundation for the APC’s campaign when the time for elections arrives.

Responding to fears about the APC’s preparedness following the ruling party’s loss in the recent presidential election in Ghana, Bwala was quick to wave off such comparisons.

“That cannot happen here because Nigerians have seen the progress being made under President Tinubu’s leadership,” he said.

Bwala’s statements underline the presidency’s confidence as it navigates governance while preparing for future political contests.

President Tinubu, who assumed office earlier this year, faces the dual challenge of delivering on his promises while maintaining his party’s dominance in Nigeria’s political landscape.

His administration has been keen on projecting an image of competence, unity, and resolve in tackling the nation’s pressing issues.

From the economy to national security, Tinubu’s policies are being scrutinized by a public eager to see tangible results.

The APC, which has ruled Nigeria since 2015, has witnessed fluctuating fortunes in recent elections.

This has placed additional pressure on Tinubu to consolidate his administration’s achievements and strengthen his party’s grip on power.

Bwala’s remarks appear to be a strategic move to reassure both Nigerians and APC supporters of the presidency’s readiness.

He underscored Tinubu’s eligibility for a second term, a subtle hint at the president’s possible re-election bid.

“Our mandate is to work for the people, and by doing so, the results will speak for themselves,” he said.

Bwala’s confidence reflects the presidency’s belief that governance, not rhetoric, will determine the political landscape in 2027.
