According to Adejobi, a dispute escalated quickly when one of the individuals, reportedly driving a Lexus sedan, deliberately rammed his vehicle into the other. “The victim was severely injured and rushed to Gbagada General Hospital, where he later died from his injuries,” Adejobi said.
Investigators from the Ikoyi Division swiftly responded to the scene of the incident, collecting evidence and securing the area. The deceased was transported to the IDH Morgue in Yaba for an autopsy, while the suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed at this time, is currently in police custody.
“Authorities are urging Lagosians to resolve conflicts peacefully and avoid taking the law into their own hands,” Adejobi added. “Violence, such as this tragic incident, disrupts the peace and safety that all citizens deserve.”
Crime Prevention: Traffic Robbers Foiled in Orile Iganmu
In a separate incident on the same day, police operatives from the Orile Iganmu Division thwarted an attempted robbery. The suspects, four men who had been targeting commuters in a broken-down vehicle, were apprehended while trying to rob passengers at the Ascon White Sand area. The swift intervention of the officers prevented what could have been another alarming crime in the city.
ACP Adejobi noted, “This operation highlights the importance of vigilance among the public, especially on Lagos’ heavily congested roads. Criminals often blend in as innocent traders, taking advantage of the chaos to prey on vulnerable individuals.”
