The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has begun an investigation into a serious incident involving its personnel and civilians in Unguwan Gangare, Barakallahu, Kaduna State, on Wednesday. The disturbing event resulted in several injuries and the loss of life.
According to a statement released by the NAF on Thursday, the investigation was immediately initiated in response to the incident, which has caused significant concern within both the military community and the public.
AVM Olusola Akinboyewa, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, confirmed that the injured individuals were receiving treatment at the 461 NAF Hospital. The statement also revealed that efforts had been made to contact the families of those who died in the incident.
“An unfortunate event took place, and we deeply regret the injuries and loss of lives that occurred. Our hearts go out to the families of those affected. A full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway,” AVM Akinboyewa said.
He further assured that any personnel found guilty of wrongdoing would be held accountable, highlighting the NAF’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and discipline.
