A violent incident occurred in the town of Ede, Osun State, when a customer shot a convenience store owner over a N500 energy drink. The suspect, identified as a member of a notorious cult group, has been apprehended by the police after a dramatic manhunt.

The incident took place on Saturday evening, around 9:00 p.m., when the suspect walked into a shop located in the Bihari/Ishola area of Ede. He purchased an energy drink priced at N500 and requested a loan of N400 from the store owner, who agreed to lend him the money. The man promised to pay back the N400 and transfer a total of N900 to the shop owner.

However, the shopkeeper later discovered that the transfer had not been completed as promised. Concerned, he went back to the suspect to inquire about the issue. In response to the situation, the suspect pulled out a cut-to-size pistol from his bag and shot the businessman in both his left hand and right arm. After the attack, the suspect fled the scene, leaving the store owner injured and in shock.

The injured store owner was able to report the incident to the authorities, prompting an immediate investigation. Osun State Police, working alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), launched an extensive search for the suspect. Their efforts led them to a hideout where the suspect had been hiding since the crime.

Upon his arrest, the police recovered a cut-to-size pistol and a live cartridge from the suspect. During questioning, the suspect admitted to being a member of the Alora cult group. He was taken into custody and is expected to face charges in court once the investigation is concluded.
