Mohbad’s Brother, Adura, Arrested by Police After Court Appearance in Lagos

The younger brother of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, has been arrested by the Nigeria Police. Adura, alongside his friend Ibrahim Koleosho, also known as King White, was taken into custody on Wednesday after attending a legal proceeding at the Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos State.

The arrest has sparked widespread public attention, with many questioning the circumstances surrounding the detention and the involvement of various individuals linked to the case. According to reports, Adura and Koleosho were at the court for a matter related to a phone that Adura had reportedly sold to one Damola Ayinde, which has since become a point of contention.

The tension surrounding Adura’s arrest is rooted in a series of allegations that have surfaced since his brother Mohbad’s tragic death. In January 2025, Mohbad’s mother, Abosede Aloba, publicly clashed with Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi during a press briefing. Fabiyi had alleged that Adura was involved in a suspicious Instagram chat, claiming to have video evidence of how Mohbad died. Fabiyi further accused Adura of demanding N3 million in Bitcoin in exchange for the video.

However, Adura denied the accusation, explaining that the Instagram chat was not from him but from Ayinde, the person to whom he had sold his phone. The controversy over the phone sale and the alleged chat led to a forensic investigation, which is still ongoing, with the court continuing to probe the matter.

This legal battle has intensified since the petition was filed by Fabiyi in December 2024. In his petition, Fabiyi outlined the allegations against Adura and called for legal action. The situation was further complicated when Adura accused Fabiyi and Ayinde of hacking his TikTok account and damaging his reputation. In response, Adura filed a defamation lawsuit for N1 billion, alleging that they were tampering with evidence and making fraudulent claims that implicated him.

“We don’t know where Adura is, but we can confirm that his friend, Koleosho, was arrested after the court proceedings today. Everything just happened suddenly. “Please help me, Nigerians. Yomi Fabiyi and Sam Jojo have taken my son. I don’t know where they are taking him to. They asked them to take my son away. My son did nothing to them. They must not lay a hand on him. He is sick. Demola, you’ve put me in trouble. Mohbad’s spirit will fight you,” Abosede pleaded through tears in the emotional video.

Her plea has since garnered attention on social media, where many users have expressed their sympathy and called for justice for the Aloba family. The video further added to the controversy surrounding Adura’s arrest and the ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s death.

The events leading to Adura’s arrest are a continuation of a bitter legal dispute involving several individuals connected to Mohbad’s life and death. Prior to his arrest, Adura had demanded a public apology from Fabiyi, Ayinde, and others, accusing them of defamation and hacking his TikTok account. The case has added to the growing tensions surrounding the circumstances of Mohbad’s death. Fans and observers continue to follow the legal proceedings, with many hoping for justice and clarity in what has become a highly publicized and emotional matter.

Following the arrest, a police source confirmed that Adura and Koleosho were detained by operatives from the Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan. This is different from the Lagos State Police Command, which many had assumed would handle the case.

The source, explained that the arrest was related to the ongoing investigation but declined to provide further details on the exact charges or circumstances surrounding their detention.
