    Army Arrests Suspected Human Parts Trafficker in Ogun

    The 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, operating under the 35 Artillery Brigade, has successfully arrested a man for trafficking human parts in Ogun State. The suspect, who was apprehended in Kulanla Odomola, narrowly escaped being lynched by an angry mob before army troops arrived to rescue him.

    Lt.-Col. Olabisi Ayeni, the division’s spokesman, confirmed the arrest on Sunday in a signed statement, detailing how the suspect was caught in the act. The suspect, whose identity has not been revealed, was found with human parts, and the army quickly intervened, taking him into custody.

    “The suspect, along with the exhibits, has been handed over to the Nigeria Police at Noforija for further investigation and possible prosecution,” Ayeni stated. This is the latest in a series of actions by the army to tackle criminal activities in Ogun State, highlighting their commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens.

    In another operation, troops in Ado-Odo, Ota Local Government Area, apprehended three drug peddlers during a routine patrol. The suspects were discovered hiding two packs of suspected Indian hemp underneath a large cargo of 60kg in a white J5 vehicle.

    “The suspects and exhibits have been handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ilaro Area Command, for further investigation and possible prosecution,” Ayeni added.
