A staff member of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has gone missing following a suspected kidnapping along the Jos-Abuja highway.
The incident happened on the evening of Monday, April 28, 2025, around 7:15 PM, when three men, said to be JAMB staff, were travelling from Abuja to Jos. According to sources, their vehicle was ambushed by armed men believed to be kidnappers.
Two of the officials managed to escape into the nearby forest, but one of them has not been seen since the attack.
Security forces, including troops of the Nigerian Army, have launched a search operation in the forested area to find and rescue the missing person.
The Jos-Abuja road has witnessed several cases of kidnapping in recent months, raising concerns about the safety of commuters and the need for increased security patrols along the route.
Authorities have yet to release the identity of the missing JAMB official, but investigations are ongoing.
