The Federal Government has officially declared Thursday, May 1, 2025, a public holiday to mark Workers’ Day. This announcement was made in a statement by the Ministry of Interior’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, in Abuja.
In his message, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, praised Nigerian workers for their hard work and commitment, emphasizing that their efforts are crucial to the nation’s growth and international reputation. He highlighted the importance of peace and innovation in driving industrialization and economic development.
Tunji-Ojo further urged workers to maintain a culture of productivity and dedication, contributing positively to nation-building. He also reassured citizens of the administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all Nigerians and foreigners living in the country.
The Minister concluded by wishing all Nigerian workers a happy and productive Workers’ Day celebration.
