A former Chairman of Jama’are Local Government Area in Bauchi State, Isa Muhammad Wabi, has been tragically stabbed to death in an attack allegedly involving acquaintances of his son. The incident occurred early on the morning of May 2, 2025, at his son’s home in Fadaman Mada, Bauchi.

According to a statement from the Bauchi State Police Command, Wabi, 66, was found critically injured and immediately rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he was later pronounced dead.

Initial investigations suggest that the attackers, identified as Ahmad Abdulkadir (also known as Abba) and Faruk Malami (Ajebo), were associates of Wabi’s 24-year-old son, Abdulgafar Isa Mohammed. The suspects allegedly entered the home in the early hours and assaulted the victim, inflicting multiple stab wounds to his neck.

Ajebo was found unconscious at the scene, possibly due to a retaliatory action. Abdulgafar Isa Mohammed is currently in police custody, cooperating with authorities in the investigation. The police are continuing their probe into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
