The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it has not fixed any date for the resumption of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise across the country.
The clarification came on Sunday via INEC’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, through a statement by its Chief Press Secretary, Rotimi Oyekanmi.
Oyekanmi also dismissed online rumours suggesting that CVR would resume on May 27, describing such claims as fake and not from the commission.
“There is no official schedule yet for CVR or the transfer and replacement of lost Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs),” he said.
INEC urged Nigerians to rely only on information released through its verified platforms and assured the public that an official announcement will be made once preparations are complete.
The CVR exercise allows citizens to register to vote, update personal information, or replace lost or damaged PVCs ahead of future elections.
