The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under Operation Hadin Kai, has launched a successful airstrike on a key hideout of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Borno State, killing many and destroying their weapons and logistics facilities.
According to intelligence sources, the strike happened around 3:00 p.m. on Thursday in Chiraliya, a known ISWAP enclave within the Timbuktu Triangle — one of the most dangerous terrorist strongholds in northeastern Nigeria.
The operation followed credible intelligence and real-time surveillance, allowing for a well-coordinated attack. The airstrike directly hit makeshift shelters, supply stores, and routes used by the terrorists.
Sources said the bombings caused massive damage, with several ISWAP fighters killed and others fleeing into nearby forests. Surveillance footage also showed secondary explosions, confirming the presence of hidden fuel and ammunition depots.
“Survivors were seen abandoning their positions, indicating serious damage to their operations,” one intelligence source stated.
The raid is part of ongoing efforts by the military to weaken ISWAP’s ability to regroup and carry out attacks against civilians and security forces in the region.
The Timbuktu Triangle area has long served as a hideout for ISWAP, and this latest strike is seen as a major success in Nigeria’s fight against terrorism in the Northeast.
