The Niger State Police Command has arrested two suspected drug dealers and five robbery suspects in separate operations across the state.

According to a statement issued in Minna on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the drug suspects were intercepted on May 12 around 10 p.m. by police operatives on routine patrol in Kontagora.

The suspects, identified as Jimoh Adamu (26) of Argungu Road, Kontagora, and Usmaniorun Abubakar (26) of Sabon-Rijiya village in Mashegu, were caught along the Babban-Rami/Rafin-Gora Road. They were riding a Bajaj motorcycle and found with a bag containing 327 wraps of cannabis, 38 packs of Emzol tablets, four sachets of tramadol tablets, and N291,200 in cash.

“Adamu confessed to being a drug dealer, while Abubakar admitted to assisting him in the trade,” SP Abiodun stated, adding that the suspects will be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation.

In a separate operation on May 9, police operatives from Maje Division arrested 27-year-old Richard Dikko of Bumburu Village, Gwagwalada, Abuja, for phone snatching. He was caught in Suleja with a Bajaj motorcycle and five android phones, including one stolen from a shop attendant he had allegedly deceived while pretending to buy items.
