A 75-year-old Nigerian pilgrim from Edo State, Mrs. Adizatu Dazumi, has died in Makkah during the ongoing 2025 Hajj pilgrimage after a brief illness.

Mrs. Dazumi, who hailed from Jattu Uzairue in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, reportedly fell ill shortly after performing Tawaaf, the sacred walk around the Kaaba. She was admitted to King Fahad General Hospital on Sunday but died the following day, Monday.

The Chairman of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Musah Uduimoh, confirmed the incident on Tuesday.

“In line with Islamic tradition, she was buried in Makkah the same day she passed. Her family in Jattu Uzairue has been informed,” Uduimoh said.
