Popular Nollywood actress, Aisha Lawal, has strongly denied rumours that she received a Toyota Venza as a gift from Lagos transport union leader, Musiliyu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo.
The actress made her stance clear during a recent interview on the Talk To B podcast, where she described the allegation as false and damaging to her name. Lawal revealed she is taking legal action against the man behind the claim, declaring, “I’m going to court.”
The controversy began when a video went viral online. In the video, a man alleged that MC Oluomo gave his blue Venza to Aisha Lawal. The actress said she only became aware of the video after hearing her name mentioned in what she described as a “prayer” from the man.
“One man, an adult, sat in front of a camera and said MC Oluomo gave me a Venza. I’ve never even driven a Venza in my life. I drive a GX 460,” Lawal stated, clearly upset.
She added that the rumour is not only untrue but deeply insulting, considering the hard work she has put into building her life and career.
“I have suffered. My shop is like the fourth or fifth building I’ve built. Put some respect on my name,” she said.
Lawal shared details about her early struggles, including taking night buses to different parts of Nigeria and even joining poultry transport vehicles to avoid paying for hotel rooms. She also spoke about how the COVID-19 era marked a major breakthrough in her business journey.
The actress expressed shock at how people can easily spread false stories without considering the harm it causes. “I cannot study Law for seven years and not go all the way to court,” she said, warning the man behind the video to get a good lawyer.
The Venza allegation, now trending as the Aisha Lawal/MC Oluomo Venza saga on social media, continues to generate buzz. But Lawal remains firm in her decision to defend her name legally.
