    NSCDC Officers Attack Police Inspector in Gombe

    Police authorities in Gombe State have launched a manhunt for two officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who allegedly attacked a police officer, leaving him seriously injured.

    According to police sources, the incident happened on June 15, 2025, around 8:00 p.m. along Dukku Road in Gombe. The suspects — identified as Umar Ahmadu, Al’azeez, and Abdulrasheed — are personnel of the NSCDC attached to the Dukku Road Office.

    They are accused of attacking Inspector Mohammed Jungudo with a jackknife, inflicting deep cuts and serious injuries on various parts of his body.

    The injured officer is currently receiving medical treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe.

    As of press time, the suspects were still on the run, and security operatives are intensifying efforts to locate and arrest them.

    Police sources described the attack as a “serious case of conspiracy and assault” and promised that justice will be served.

    The motive behind the assault remains unclear, and both the police and the NSCDC have yet to release an official statement on the incident.
