Armed bandits kidnapped the Chief Imam of Fangaltama village and five other people in a violent attack on Wednesday, June 18, in Zamfara State. The incident happened around 3 a.m. along the Gusau–Sokoto highway in Talata Mafara Local Government Area.

The gunmen stormed Fangaltama village, located near a military base, and opened fire indiscriminately. During the attack, a woman named Basira Abdullahi was shot and injured.

Sources confirmed that the bandits abducted six people, including the village’s Chief Imam, Liman Hamisu Ali, and five other residents. Security forces quickly responded and rushed to the scene, but the kidnappers had already escaped with their victims.
