Rivers, Bayelsa Next to Join APC – Akpabio

    Share

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has predicted that more states currently led by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will soon join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking on Saturday during the official reception of Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno into the APC at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akpabio said Rivers and Bayelsa States are likely to follow Akwa Ibom’s lead.

“Governor Umo Eno, after you, who knows? Rivers state will tumble. After Rivers, Bayelsa will join,” Akpabio said.

The PDP currently governs Rivers and Bayelsa, but recent political shifts have seen some leaders moving to the APC, Nigeria’s ruling party.

Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom, welcomed Governor Umo Eno to the APC, describing it as a growing movement that is gaining support across the country.
