    Hit-and-Run Kills Bauchi Graduate on Eve of Overseas Journey

    A 27-year-old man, Rotji Lazarus, was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident just one day before he was scheduled to travel abroad for a new job opportunity.

    The incident happened at night along the Bauchi–Dass road near POWA shops in the Yelwa area of Bauchi State. Eyewitnesses said a vehicle without headlights knocked him down and sped off in the direction of Rafin Zurfi on Tafawa-Balewa Road.

    Rotji, a graduate of Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, also held a postgraduate diploma in Tourism and Leisure Management from the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi. He was running a small fruit juice business near where the accident happened while preparing for his departure.

    The driver of the vehicle is still at large.

    The Bauchi State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Titus Saul Ketkukah, visited the family and offered condolences to Lazarus Buba, the father of the deceased and also a Special Adviser to the Commissioner.
