Bode George: Wike Doesn’t Own PDP

    Share

A top member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has issued a strong warning to those he believes are working against the party, saying they will be dealt with at the party’s next National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.

Speaking in a video that has gone viral, Chief George said the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has been acting as if he owns the PDP. But he quickly pointed out that Wike is just one member and does not control the party.

“Wike doesn’t own PDP. This is not like the APC that is controlled by one man. In our party, there are rules, and anyone who breaks them will be disciplined,” Bode George said.

He added that the NEC meeting will take a strong stand against disloyal members, no matter how powerful they are.

This comes amid ongoing tension within the PDP, especially after the 2023 general elections, where some party leaders were accused of anti-party activities. Wike, who openly opposed the PDP presidential candidate in 2023 and later joined President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet as FCT Minister, has remained a controversial figure in the party.
