A Sharia Court judge in Zamfara State, Alkali Usman, who was abducted by unknown gunmen on Wednesday, June 26, has escaped and returned home safely.

Usman, a judge at the Higher Sharia Court in Birnin Tudu, Gummi Local Government Area, was declared missing earlier this week after his sudden disappearance. However, he returned to his residence around 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 27.

Sources confirmed that the judge was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention. After treatment and discharge, he was debriefed by security operatives and later reunited with his family.

Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer, Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the development but declined to reveal details about how the judge escaped.

“He has been reunited with his family. That is all I can tell you,” Abubakar said.
