Elder statesman and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Chief Bode George, has declared that the party has overcome its internal crisis and is now united again.
Speaking to journalists on Monday, Bode George said what many had called a major crisis in the party was simply a family disagreement between members, which has now been settled.
“Prayers are very powerful. We were able to resolve our crisis today. We have resurrected,” he said with relief.
He added, “It was not a real crisis. It was just a disagreement between two people. And like in every family, we sat down and resolved it.”
The PDP, Nigeria’s main opposition party, has been plagued in recent years by internal wrangling, especially following the 2023 general elections, which weakened its performance and unity.
George’s comments suggest the leadership has made progress in rebuilding trust and moving forward as a united front ahead of future elections.
Party supporters across the country are hopeful that the resolution of the issues will allow the PDP to focus on offering strong opposition and preparing for upcoming political contests.
