The funeral ceremony for the late Liverpool forward, Diogo Jota, and his brother, Andre Silva, has been confirmed for 10 a.m. this Saturday in Gondomar, Portugal.

Initially, the funeral was scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday, according to Father Jose Manuel Macedo, a local priest. However, he later announced a change of date due to minor paperwork delays that needed resolving before the family could repatriate the bodies.

Before the funeral mass at Igreja Matriz de Gondomar, the Catholic church beside Sao Cosme Chapel—a wake-keep will be held at the chapel.

The 28-year-old Diogo Jota tragically died in a car accident early Friday while travelling in Spain with his brother Andre Silva. The news has shocked football fans worldwide, with tributes pouring in for the talented forward.

The delay in the funeral highlights the often complex legal and administrative processes involved in repatriating bodies across countries. Family, friends, and fans continue to mourn the sudden loss of the football star.
