Popular Afrobeats singer, Stanley Omah Didia, better known as Omah Lay, has boldly declared himself the greatest artiste of his generation.
The “Soso” crooner made the statement on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, saying he may not have proof at the moment, but he believes history will back up his claim.
“Hi guys! My name is Omah Lay and I am the greatest of my generation. I don’t have proofs right now but there will be a lot in the future. Thanks. Yours truly, Boy Alone,” he wrote.
This is not the first time Omah Lay has expressed strong confidence in his talent and future. In 2024, during an interview on The Beat FM in London, he stated that he had developed a new sound and would be one of the key figures leading the new wave of Afrobeats globally.
Omah Lay, who broke into the mainstream with hits like Bad Influence and Lo Lo, has since carved a niche for himself with his emotional lyrics and smooth vocals. His debut album Boy Alone earned both critical and commercial acclaim.
His latest statement has sparked discussions online, with fans and music lovers sharing mixed reactions. While some praised his self-confidence, others say only time and consistent hits will prove if he truly is the greatest of his peers.
