Popular Nigerian pastor, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanemere, also known as Odumeje, has revealed why he does not collect tithes from his church members.

Speaking during a recent church service in Anambra State, Odumeje said his mission is not to make money from religion but to show people that Jesus Christ is real.

“Look at a young, fresh man like me. I’ll come here and be deceiving people? I no dey do church for money. Nobody pays me tithe,” the controversial preacher said to his congregation.

He explained that even though he knows the Bible talks about tithes, he has chosen not to collect them because his calling is different.

“I am doing this to prove to you that Christ is real. That is my mission. When I’m done, I’ll leave just like Prophet TB Joshua left,” he added.
