The Registrar of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo State, Mr. Ezekiel Adeniran, has passed away unexpectedly.
His death was announced in a statement released on Thursday by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Isaac Oluyi, who described the news as shocking and devastating to the university community.
According to the statement, Mr. Adeniran was last seen at his duty post on Monday, July 14, 2025, and showed no signs of ill health. He died on Thursday, July 17, 2025. The cause of death is still unknown at the time of filing this report.
“The devastating news has thrown the university into mourning. It was shocking! He was still at his duty post on Monday,” the statement read.
Mr. Adeniran assumed office as the third substantive Registrar of UNIMED on January 6, 2025, and served until his sudden death.
The university extended its condolences to his family, colleagues, and the entire school community, praying for strength during this difficult time.
His death comes just months into his tenure, cutting short what was expected to be a long and impactful service at the institution.
