The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that 101,995 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) are yet to be collected in Plateau State.

Alhaji Mohammed Sadiq, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Plateau, made this known on Thursday while addressing journalists in Jos.

According to Sadiq, the state currently has 2,789,528 registered voters, out of which 2,687,533 have already collected their PVCs, representing 96.3 percent collection rate.

The REC also revealed that INEC will begin a fresh round of Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) to allow eligible Nigerians to register, collect their PVCs, or make changes such as transfers and replacements.

He stated that online pre-registration will begin on August 18, while physical registration will follow from August 25. The in-person exercise will take place daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

He emphasized that the exercise is for citizens who have turned 18 or those who need to transfer, replace, or collect their lost or damaged PVCs.

Sadiq warned against multiple registrations, reminding Nigerians that every citizen is entitled to only one vote.

The announcement comes as INEC continues efforts to improve voter participation ahead of future elections across the country.
