NCAA Blacklists K1 De Ultimate Over Airport Incident

    Share

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has blacklisted popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, known as K1 De Ultimate, over an alleged security breach at the Abuja airport.

This was announced by the NCAA Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, during a press conference in Abuja. He said investigations into the incident are still ongoing.

The controversy began on Tuesday, August 5, when K1 was scheduled to board Flight VK201 from Abuja to Lagos. Reports claim he approached the aircraft carrying a gold flask with unknown contents.

When ground staff asked to inspect the flask, the musician reportedly refused. He was later seen drinking from it, and staff suspected it contained alcohol — a substance prohibited onboard Nigerian commercial flights.

The situation led to his being denied boarding, resulting in an altercation and what authorities described as a security breach. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) had earlier launched an investigation into the matter.

As a result of the incident, K1 has now been blacklisted by the NCAA pending the conclusion of the investigation. The authority said safety and security regulations must be strictly followed by all passengers, regardless of status.

K1 has yet to respond directly to the NCAA’s action, although his media team had earlier denied any wrongdoing and claimed the issue was exaggerated.
