The All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmen from Nigeria’s North-Central zone have declared their full support for President Bola Tinubu, insisting that no distraction or opposition can stop his administration’s reform agenda.

Speaking at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja on Thursday, the Chairman of the North-Central APC Chairmen Forum, Mr Sunday Fagbemi, said the Tinubu-led government is focused on transforming Nigeria and is already showing signs of progress, especially in the economy.

Fagbemi, who is also the Kwara State APC Chairman, made the remarks during a condolence visit to the National Chairman of the party, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who recently lost his mother.

Yilwatda’s mother passed away on August 17 at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) at the age of 83.

Fagbemi said the APC state chairmen are united in their resolve to fully support the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and ensure its successful implementation at all levels.

“By the grace of God, we have seen some progress and development. President Tinubu is weathering the storm,” Fagbemi stated.

He highlighted that while the journey of rebuilding Nigeria is not easy, real progress is being made in key areas like economic recovery and infrastructure development.

“Even opposition parties have admitted that four years is not enough to fix the tattered ship of the nation. But President Tinubu has done a lot already,” he said.

Fagbemi also noted that the prices of food items were beginning to drop, which he attributed to diversification efforts under the current government.

“We really can’t achieve much in just four years, but the foundation has been laid,” he added.

Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Fagbemi said the party’s leadership across the North-Central zone would not allow itself to be distracted. Instead, they would focus on delivering on the promises of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“We are staying focused. Our target is to make sure Nigerians continue to see and feel the impact of good governance,” he said.

Also speaking, the APC Chairman of Nasarawa State, Dr Aliyu Bello, called on Nigerians to continue supporting the Tinubu administration so that more results can be achieved.

“The economy is moving in the right direction. Even PDP governors are happy now because state allocations have increased,” Bello said.

He praised the bold decisions taken by President Tinubu since assuming office, saying they were beginning to yield visible results.

“Let us not be distracted. With time, Nigerians will see the full benefits before the next election,” he added.

On the issue of insecurity in the North-Central zone, Bello said the government was already taking steps to address the problem and stressed that insecurity was not peculiar to Nigeria.

“With God on our side, we will overcome. The president is committed to security and peace,” he said.
