Eugene Agagbe has been appointed as the head coach of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) U-19 team.
His appointment was officially announced on Thursday by Barau FC, a club where Agagbe recently joined the technical crew.
The NPFL U-19 team is currently participating in a two-week camping programme that began on Saturday, 4 October, in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The camp is expected to end on Friday, 17 October.
Agagbe will be leading the coaching of a select group of 70 players, drawn from the 20 NPFL clubs across the country. The U-19 team serves as a platform for identifying and grooming young football talents who could potentially move up to the senior league or national teams.
His appointment is seen as a vote of confidence in his technical ability and understanding of youth football development.
The NPFL U-19 initiative is part of a broader plan by the League Management to promote grassroots football and ensure a strong talent pipeline for the Nigerian professional league and the national teams.
Agagbe is expected to bring his experience and technical know-how to help shape the next generation of Nigerian football stars.
