Sammy Daniels, the younger brother of popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has been released from police custody after spending several days in detention.
The news of his release was confirmed by fellow actress Doris Ogala, who announced on social media that Sammy had been granted bail. Ogala expressed relief over the development and thanked those who supported the family during the period.
Although details surrounding the reason for Sammy’s arrest and detention have not been made public, the news of his freedom has generated widespread reaction among fans of his sister, who is married to Prince Ned Nwoko, a businessman and senator representing Delta North Senatorial District.
Sammy, who is also known for his social media presence and close relationship with his sister, had reportedly been in police custody for several days. His detention attracted attention from entertainment circles and online platforms, with several Nollywood figures calling for his release.
Actress Doris Ogala was one of the first to speak out about the matter. Earlier, she shared posts demanding justice and transparency regarding Sammy’s arrest, describing the situation as “unfair.”
In a follow-up message posted on Monday, Ogala confirmed that he had finally been released on bail, though she did not disclose the specific charges or conditions attached to his release.
“Sammy Daniels has been granted bail and is now free. We thank everyone who stood by the family,” she wrote.
Regina Daniels, 24, rose to fame as a child actress in Nollywood and has since become a prominent public figure. Her marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko in 2019 drew significant media attention and placed her family firmly in the public eye.
