Armed men suspected to be bandits have attacked a Police Mobile Force camp in Tenebo community, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, killing at least three police officers and injuring two others.
The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, caused panic in the community as residents woke up to the sound of heavy gunfire. Many people reportedly stayed indoors for fear of being caught in the violence.
According to initial reports, the attackers stormed the police facility unexpectedly and overwhelmed officers on duty before carrying out the deadly assault. The exact number of attackers has not yet been confirmed.
