Olamide Didn’t Make Me Famous: Portable Stirs Controversy with Bold Claims

    Share

Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has ignited a social media storm by dismissing claims that rapper Olamide was responsible for his rise to fame.

In a fiery TikTok live stream, the Zazu Zeh crooner declared that while Olamide supported him, his fame was a result of his own efforts and divine intervention.

“Olamide didn’t blow me. I was already famous before he jumped on my song. Zazu Zeh blew from heaven,” Portable asserted, adding a dramatic touch to his declaration.

The singer, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, rose to prominence in 2021 when Olamide featured on his breakout track, Zazu Zeh. However, Portable emphasized that his journey to stardom had already begun before the collaboration.

“Is it Olamide that posted me and got me famous?” he asked rhetorically.

“He’s my helper, yes, but I was already famous before he helped me. These are two different things. He didn’t come to meet me suffering. Everyone wanted to mingle with me at the time, and it even caused some issues,” he explained.

“Olamide Hasn’t Supported Me Since Zazu”

Portable also expressed disappointment over what he described as Olamide’s lack of continued support after their collaboration.

“Let’s even talk about it. Since that time that Olamide helped me, has he ever posted me on his story? I thank God for what he did, but still, what year did he help me? It’s not the same feature I’ve been using to fend for myself all this while,” he lamented.

Portable accused the music industry of sidelining him and revealed that he has been blacklisted by some insiders.

“I’ve even been blacklisted in the industry. Abeg, if you no see me, I no see you!” he exclaimed.

    Acknowledging Other Supporters

While Portable was critical of Olamide, he praised other contributors to his career, including Tunde Ednut and Skepta.

“It was Tunde Ednut who helped me by posting my freestyle. People were already looking for me before Olamide. What would you now say about Skepta, who did a collab with me?” he questioned.

Portable went on to recount how an old video of him performing freestyle tracks had first caught the attention of fans online.

    “I Know My Rights”

The self-proclaimed “superstar” also addressed why he has become an isolated figure in the Nigerian music industry.

“The reason nobody wants to mingle with me anymore is because they know I know my rights. I’m a superstar. Bleep you people!” Portable said, not holding back his emotions.

The outspoken artist’s remarks have sparked mixed reactions, with some fans applauding his confidence and others criticizing him for disrespecting Olamide.

    A History of Drama

Portable is no stranger to controversy. Since bursting onto the scene in 2021, he has been involved in several high-profile disputes, often taking to social media to voice his grievances.

Despite the backlash, Portable remains a polarizing figure who continues to dominate conversations in the entertainment industry.

With his latest outburst, it’s clear that Portable isn’t afraid to speak his mind, even if it means ruffling feathers in the process.
