    Renowned Christian Music Composer Kidnapped in Anambra

    Jude Nnam, popularly known as ‘Ancestor,’ was kidnapped on Thursday evening in Anambra State.

    The Christian music icon was allegedly abducted around 6 p.m. in Umunnachi, Anambra, while he was attending a church function.

    Nnam is well known for his work as the National Music Director for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and his involvement with the National Liturgical Commission of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN).

    Catholic priest Rev. Fr. Augustine Mario broke the news on Facebook, asking the faithful to pray for Nnam’s safe return.

    “Please kindly keep Sir Dr. Jude Nnam (Ancestor) in your prayers,” Fr. Mario wrote. “He was allegedly kidnapped yesterday evening around 6 p.m. in Umunnachi, Anambra State.”

    In his post, Fr. Mario added a prayer for Nnam’s safety and quick release.

    “May God grant him safety and quick release from his abductors. Amen,” the post continued.

    Another Catholic priest echoed his sentiments, expressing disbelief at the growing insecurity in the country.

    “If this is true, then it is a huge shame. I’m simply tired of this unfortunate space called Nigeria,” the second priest wrote on Facebook. “Why this type of pain and frustration now?”

    He continued, “Anyway, I just hope this isn’t true. Jude Nnam Ancestor! It is well. Fada Mentor.”

    Nnam, a respected music maestro, recently celebrated his 50th birthday anniversary.

    He is known for his contributions to gospel music and liturgical music within the Christian community.
