    Dabiri-Erewa acknowledged the controversy surrounding Chidimma’s official withdrawal from the Miss South Africa 2024 contest, where she had made it to the final stage. After being rejected by South African organizers, who questioned her nationality, Chidimma faced a public setback that could have derailed her dreams.

    However, instead of giving up, Chidimma returned to Nigeria, where she was embraced by her fellow Nigerians. She soon went on to represent Taraba State in the Miss Universe Nigeria competition organized by the Silverbird group, winning the coveted title and earning the right to represent Nigeria on the global stage.

    “Her courage in the face of rejection and adversity is something to be celebrated,” Dabiri-Erewa said. “We were able to welcome her back to Nigeria with open arms, and from there, she soared.”

    At the NiDCOM Lagos office, Chidimma was received with much excitement and celebration. She was also hosted to a grand reception at “The Temple,” Victoria Island, where music legend D’banj added to the festive atmosphere.
